State Action Steps


While the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid policy change presents a tremendous opportunity for states to expand access to and resources for school health services through Medicaid reimbursement, work must be done at the state and local levels to take advantage of it.

For those states in the process of (or considering) expanding school-based Medicaid programs, it is important to know which services are already provided in the state, where there are gaps and unmet needs, and if and how they are reimbursed by Medicaid.
