HSPF Learning Collaborative

Healthy Students, Promising Futures is a resource for anyone interested in opportunities to strengthen their state’s school Medicaid program. HSPF staff are available to field questions about state programs and to provide targeted technical assistance.

The HSPF Learning Collaborative is open to state teams interested in gaining individualized technical assistance and guidance from school Medicaid experts, including federal agencies and national organizations. Participation benefits include peer-to-peer learning opportunities and invites to webinars and in-person meetings.

New teams are accepted on a rolling basis. State teams should include at least one school district along with representation from the state Medicaid and state education agencies. Additional partners, such as public health departments, advocacy organizations and school health provider associations, are encouraged.

The HSPF Learning Collaborative engages with key federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Education, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Past speakers include:

  • Jerome Adams, former U.S. Surgeon General
  • Bechara Choucair, White House vaccinations coordinator
  • Kathleen Ethier, director of CDC’s Division of Adolescent and School Health
  • Holly Hunt, chief of the CDC’s School Health Branch
  • John King, former U.S. Secretary of Education
