Christine Cupaiuolo is an editor and communications strategist who works with nonprofit organizations, foundations and academic institutions to elevate public policy and advocacy issues. She has written extensively on gender, media and health and was the managing editor of the health book “Our Bodies, Ourselves.” She oversees the development and dissemination of HSC’s national policy briefs, reports and other published materials.
Laura Frankel DeStigter, MPH, founder and principal consultant of Kickstand Health Consulting. Laura has more than 15 years of public health experience with a focus on program planning, resource development, training and facilitation, and project management. She has worked extensively on school health projects with the American Academy of Pediatrics, National Association of Chronic Disease Directors, and Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. Laura oversees HSC’s Medicaid Expansion for School Health (IL) program and assists in supporting school districts in expanding Medicaid-funded school health services.
Alexa Eggleston, JD, founder of Audacia Consulting LLC. Alexa works across health, behavioral health, youth development and criminal justice fields to advance people-centered, equitable care. She is working with HSC on the Advancing Substance Misuse Prevention and Early Intervention Through School Medicaid project funded by the Foundation for Opioid Response Efforts (FORE).
Amanda Martinez, MPH, MSN, RN. Amanda has 20 years of public health and healthcare experience, with a focus on program design, administration and evaluation. She provides support for numerous HSC projects, including those related to behavioral/mental health services, school Medicaid programs, the expansion and diversification of the school health staff pipeline, and collaborations with American Academy of Pediatrics, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and additional select partners.
Lena O’Rourke, founder of O’Rourke Health Policy Strategies. Lena is an experienced healthcare policy analyst and strategist focused on expanding access to high-quality, affordable health insurance and Medicaid. As HSC’s school Medicaid consultant, Lena provides strategic direction to the HSPF Learning Collaborative and direct support to state Medicaid and education agencies and school districts. She also contributes to HSC national reports and policy briefs.
Dr. Kimá Joy Taylor, MD, MPH, founder of Anka Consulting LLC. Kimá’s expertise includes identifying policy, programming and financing levers to improve health and racial equity, integrate behavioral health, primary care and social services, and support cost-effective developmentally and culturally effective holistic health care. Kimá is working with HSC to develop recommendations for expanding and diversifying the school health professional staff pipeline and on the Advancing Substance Misuse Prevention and Early Intervention Through School Medicaid project funded by the Foundation for Opioid Response Efforts (FORE).
